Get a kick out of climbing the highest summit of North Africa. It is Jbel (mountain) Toubkal in the High Atlas mountains just south of Marrakech; in the middle of Morocco.
In the summer it is an easy going walking mountain. No specific mountaineering experience is required. It is just walking; step bij step.
In winter be prepared for snow. Especially the last day to the summit. To have the nicest views on top you will start very early in the morning. On the frozen snow it is more save (and easy !!!) to walk with crampons. Crampons can be hired in Imlil. Lower in the Berbervalleys - upto 2.000m. it is just walking; most Berber villages are built just below the winter level for snow. During the day when the sun is shining even in winter it can be warm enough to walk just in your T-shirt. Be prepared when the sun disappears. Also in the evening and during the night it's getting much colder; especially in winter. Take your dow jacket if you have one!
